What is a Skin Booster Treatment?
A Skin Booster treatment is injections of a specific type of dermal filler used to improve the skin's overall quality by boosting hydration levels deep within the skin. Increased hydration may improve skin quality, texture and clarity.
The dermal fillers used at Euphoria Cosmedic Clinic are made from complex sugar chains and are combined with a unique stabilisation process to make them last. This gel-like substance is found naturally in the body already, where its main role is to attract and bind water, improve hydration and replace volume within the dermal layer of skin.
Dermal filler is administered via a needle or cannula after the area has been numbed using a prescription topical numbing agent or an injected local anesthetic. Majority of dermal filler products also contain a local anesthetic for added comfort.
What can be treated with skin booster hydration fillers?
- Dehydrated skin
- Fine lines
- Acne scarring
- Uneven skin texture
- Sun damaged skin
- Lips that require subtle rejuvenation
Skin Boosters are versatile treatments that can be used:
- For men and women of most skin types
- For people not wanting an obvious treatment
- For the face, neck, hands and decolletage
- For people who want to improve their skin texture
What will I look like after my treatment?
Skin Boosters offer a subtle, gradual improvement in skin quality, texture and hydration. Best results are achieved following a course of 2 to 3 treatments. You will typically begin to notice results after 8 to 12 weeks with final results still occurring 3 to 4 months after your initial treatment.
Immediately following your treatment
Our Nurse Rachel will advise you of the possible side effects and complications that can occur with dermal filler procedures and what to expect after your treatment during your consultation. You will also be given after-care instructions to take home with you if you go ahead with a treatment.
As an indication, the most common and expected side-effects you may experience include;
- Skin redness
- Slight pain or tenderness
Will the treatment hurt?
The area will be numbed with topical anesthetic or injected local anesthetic before the treatment, and the skin booster product also contains a local anesthetic for your added comfort. Afterwards, icing and the use of mild pain relief medication will also help with any discomfort. Avoiding certain activities for the first few days is advised, such as drinking alcohol, strenuous exercise, excessive heat (saunas, sun-baking, spas etc.) or flying.
How long does a skin booster hydration filler generally last?
You can expect to retreat at approximately 6 - 9 months to maintain the result, but some people find it lasts them much longer. Your body will metabolise the product naturally over time. The length of time between subsequent treatments will vary from person to person and can depend on things such as genetics, lifestyle, or metabolism, as well as the type and amount of product used.
