What is cheek dermal filler?
Cheek dermal filler is the same ingredient as other dermal fillers used at Euphoria but it has a thicker consistency and is available in either a 1ml or 2ml syringe. This type of dermal filler is used to restore volume loss in the mid and upper face, provide lift and support to the lower face, and to enhance or define the natural contours of the cheeks and jawline.
The dermal fillers used at Euphoria Cosmedic Clinic are made from complex sugar chains and are combined with a unique stabilisation process to make them last. This gel-like substance is found naturally in the body already, where its main roles are to attract and bind water, improve hydration and replace volume within the dermal layer of skin.
Dermal filler is administered via a needle or cannula after the area has been numbed using a topical prescription numbing cream. Dermal filler products also contain a local anaesthetic for added comfort.
What concerns can be treated with cheek filler?
- Hollowing around the temples and brows
- Flattening of the mid face due to the effects of aging, bone resorption and fat-pad depletion result in volume loss in the mid cheek area
- Jowls and deep folds in the lower face
- Loss of volume and definition along the jaw line
- Unbalanced appearance due to excessive volume loss
What will I look like after my treatment?
Often people are concerned that they will look ‘fake’ if they undergo a dermal filler treatment. This is usually because they have seen undesirable or extreme results on others. It’s important to remember that you will not always notice a good, natural looking result.
Through artistic ability and the use of the correct product in the correct place, we are able to achieve extremely natural looking results. Following a cheek dermal filler treatment, you will simply look fresher. Results are subtle but effective.
Immediately following your treatment
Your Nurse will advise you of the possible side effects and what to expect after your treatment during your consultation. You will also be given an after-care sheet to take home with you if you go ahead with a treatment.
As an indication, the most common and expected side-effects you may experience include;
- Skin redness
- Slight pain or tenderness
Will the treatment hurt?
The area will be numbed with topical anaesthetic prior to treatment, the dermal filler to be injected contains a local anaesthetic for your added comfort. Afterwards, mild tenderness and discomfort can be managed by applying a cold compress and the use of mild pain relief medication. Avoiding certain activities for the first few days, such as drinking alcohol, strenuous exercise, excessive heat (saunas, sunbaking, spas etc.) or flying may all help to keep your swelling and discomfort to a minimum.
How long does cheek dermal filler generally last?
You can expect to retreat at 9 - 12 months to maintain the result, but some people find it lasts them much longer. Your body will metabolise the product naturally over time. The length of time between subsequent treatments will vary from person to person and can depend on things such as genetics, lifestyle, or metabolism, as well as the type and amount of product used.
