When is the right time to start treatment with anti-wrinkle injections?

People often ask us at Euphoria when they should start having treatment with anti-wrinkle injections. There really is no right or wrong time to start treatment. It is a personal decision and one that you should only make once you have spoken to a medical professional who is experienced and equipped to help you come to an informed decision.

In general terms, ideally it is recommended to begin treatments prior to lines appearing as this may prevent lines and wrinkles from forming in the first instance.

However, you can start your treatments at any time, except of course if you are considered too young, or have a medical contraindication to treatment. Even if you have permanent lines already, they may soften, and may also prevent those lines becoming deeper and new ones from forming.

There are also a number of conditions besides wrinkles that can be treated using anti-wrinkle medication, so treatment can potentially be started at any adult age to resolve these.

Conditions include:

  • Gummy smile (when your lip exposes your gums when you smile)
  • Teeth grinding (often causing pain in the jaw, headaches, and dental issues)
  • Migraine headaches (these can be debilitating for many)
  • Excessive sweating (this can be an embarrassing issue for many people; underarms are a very common area for this treatment)
