The Benefits of Dermapen Collagen Induction & Mesotherapy Treatments

Both of these treatments have their own list of benefits, but together the results can be astounding as they are so complimentary to one another.

As you age, the production of collagen and elastin slows down in the dermis, the deeper layer of your skin, resulting in less volume and elasticity. Despite what cosmetics companies will tell you in their advertising, your skin provides a very effective barrier to external substances, which is why most cosmetic products applied directly onto the skins surface often fail to penetrate to the deeper dermal layer where they are most needed. Dermapen & Mesotherapy are able to reach the deeper layers of skin.

Mesotherapy is a treatment that originated in France in the 1950's that involves injecting small quantities of vitamins and minerals into the skin so that they are delivered directly to where they are needed most. It is a very popular choice for those wanting to rejuvenate dull, aging skin as it requires minimal discomfort and downtime and can be performed very quickly.

Dermapen is an advanced form of skin needling. This treatment is sometimes also referred to as collagen induction therapy as it stimulates your skin cells to produce more collagen. Dermapen works by vertically piercing the skin with multiple tiny needles (these are not needles like that of an injection, they are only a couple of millimetres long). Your skin cells recognise the 'injury' created by the tiny needle punctures and they get to work repairing the damage. This results in your skin creating fresh new skin and collagen. Whilst creating these tiny needle channels we are also allowing topical ingredients to enter the layers of skin they generally can't get through, like Mesotherapy does. The needling process also breaks up scar tissue and causes the regrowth of skin to the area, which can have profound results on scarring and general skin texture.
